Electronic System Design B.E Practicals

EXPERIMENT IX

Reliability calculations from given data.

As per BS4200 standard reliability is defined as ability of an item (may be a component,
subsystem or system) to perform a required alloted or intended function (without failure)
under state conditions for a stated period of time.
Factors affecting equipment reliability:
The various stages in life cycle of an electronic instrument can be divided into-
1. Design and Development
2. Production
3. Storage and Transport
4. Operation
The overall reliability depends on reliability of each stage. To achieve a good reliability
product is the basic task of development process.
